It is possible to generate reports for a Test Run using your own Report Writer.

The following criteria must be met for a report to be successfully generated for a Test Run:

• A valid report writer must be specified in the "Report Generator" text field, the file system can be browsed to find the required Report writer. If no Report writer is specified then the "No Report Generator specified" dialog box is displayed.
  
• The Report writer MUST take the name of the Journal file as an argument.
  
• The Report writer MUST send it's output to the standard output stream. This is because the output is captured by TETware and written to the output file, see below.
  
• An output file must be specified in the "Report Output File" text field. The file system can be browsed to find an existing file, if an existing file is used then the User will be prompted to overwrite the file. If no output file is specified then the "No output file specified" dialog box is displayed.
  

If the Test Run has been successfully executed then the name of the Journal file used will be pre-filled in the "Journal file to use" text field, the User can change this file if they wish and browse the file system for a replacement. Please note: the Journal file MUST exist, if not an error dialog, "Journal file does not exist", will be displayed.

Creating a report

If all the criteria outlined above are met then press "Generate" to start the production of a report. When the Report writer has finished and the report generated then the Report Generation finished dialog box will be displayed.

You can stop the Report writer at any time by clicking "Stop". Please note that stopping the Report production will not clean up any of the files that have been created.
