Database



Once the Database Setup is completed the user must select the Database tab, within the Reporting tree node, and then select the journal file parameters that they wish to pass to their database. These parameters are grouped according to the destination table in the database. Note that not all parameters or database fields are listed here. The key fields in each database table are mandatory and the relevant journal file parameters will be written to these fields each time the TETware GUI Database Extract tool is run.



Mode of Operation

User will need to select the modes of operation (more . . .) for which they wish to pass Journal File parameters to the database. The options available are Build, Execute and Clean.

One or more of these options must be selected if you want to pass results to the Test Purpose table. If no Mode of Operation is selected the relevant parameters will only be passed to the Test Run and Configuration Variables tables.



Database Test Run Table

This option allows users to select parameters to be passed to fields in the Test Run Table. The available parameters are:


Field Name Function
Command Line: The command line used to execute the test.
Operators Name: The name of the person who started or logged on for this test run.
Operating System: The operating system resident on the system.
Processor Type: The type of processor that the system is using.
System Name: The name of the system that is being used.
Test_Run_Duration: The time used in running the test.


Database Configuration Variables

This check box allows the user to select the Configuration variables parameters from the journal file for export to the Configuration Variables table in the database.



Database Test Purpose Table

This option allows user to select parameters to be included in Test Purpose Table. The available parameters are:


Field Name Function
Test_Purpose_Start The start time of test purpose.
Test_Purpose_Duration The length of time to complete the test purpose.
Test_Purpose_Result The result code for this test purpose.
Test_Purpose_Output Output from this invocation of the test purpose.
Completion_Flag Flag indicating tests that fails to complete.
