Remote System : Environment tab



The Environment tab for the remote system is the place to setup all the environment variables that TETware will and may need to execute correctly.

All variables specified in this tab will be written to the tetdist.cfg file.
Please note: these variables, will be given a suffix of "TET_REMnnn" when written to the relevant configuration file, where "nnn" is the remote system number assigned by the User.

Use the "Browse" button to browse the file system, a file selection dialog box will be displayed that can be used to find directories only.
Note: it may be that the remote system to be used in testing is not accessible via the file system, i.e the remote file system is not mounted or no network drive has been mapped, in which case the directory to use should be typed directly into the text field.

Use the "Clear" button to clear the contents of the relevant field.


The following variables can be specified in this tab:


TET_ROOT

This variable specifies to TETware the location of library files and certain configuration files that must exist under the TET_ROOT directory for the remote system.  This variable MUST always be specified for a remote system participating in testing.

TET_TSROOT

This variable is only found on remote systems and is used to indicate the location of the Test Suite root directory on the remote system. It must be specified for each remote system participating in the Test Run.

Mapping

This specifies the mapped path of the TET_ROOT directory for the Remote System.

Note: It may be that the Remote System to be used in testing is not accessible via the file system, i.e. the remote file system is not mounted or no network drive has been mapped, in which case the directory to use should be typed directly into the text field. Use the Clear button to clear the contents of the relevant field.

TET_SUITE_ROOT

For remote systems this variable is not used by TETware but if specified is passed to Test Cases and tools in the environment as a communication variable.

TET_EXECUTE

If specified this variable indicates to TETware that it should perform Test Case execution in the directory specified on the remote system. This variable is passed as a communication variable.

TET_TMP_DIR

If specified this variable indicates to TETware that it should place all files generated by Test Case activity under the directory specified. This variable is passed as a communication variable.

TET_RUN

If specified this variable indicates to TETware that it should copy the entire Test Suite to the directory specified and process the Test Suite in that directory. This variable is passed as a communication variable.
